Becoming
The Cosmic Dragon mediates between night and day, acknowledges good and evil, and facilitates transcendence of opposites within human nature. Its universe is infinite. It is always fully awake. This dragon is crowned with spirals and feathers, an acknowledgement of never-ending energy. The fertility fish swims in its spiraled breath. The twins ride the twisting form while a sacred blinding happens causing an inability to distinguish the One from the Other. They are shadow figures, the embodiment of whatever one tends to deny or repress. Suddenly, a youth is released from the jaws of this Cosmic energy. He must find his balance and land with grace and wholeness. A butterfly maiden and spirited bird watches his descent. Two women prepare for this becoming. Sprouting plants, sunflowers, ivy, laurel trees, and roses are the life force coming into being. The shaman tree is being carefully groomed for the youth’s intuitional and visionary potential. The dragon’s body writhes with creation symbols denoting the young man’s arrival. A river passes by while the monkey messenger risks dropping his power over life and death. The rose alone, at the feet of this Cosmic Dragon, marks a path of knowledge, wisdom, and acceptance of benevolent love for this world. The youth must come to realize one can have the experience of eternity right here and now in all things. The labyrinth lies before him and the path of his soul can be found in the well of his own being. Jody Bare

“Ship of Fools” Print
Ship of Fools’ story
Eight seafarers are on a lifelong journey from self to Self. The Great Goddess is present as maiden, mother, and crone. Soft power is evident where harmony of both feminine and masculine energy can bring about radical change. The men are locked in reflection and have reached the still point of the spiral. The shaman stands and reaches out but sees only the waters. Every being becomes a central axis, because the boat has lost its winds and is ’in irons’ sailing nowhere. It is double headed denoting confusion; however, the moon controls the waters and reflects the sun as the ego reflects the Self. Meanwhile, the maiden butterfly keeps the channels open for the gods and the raven rises while activating change and vitality. Looking to the land, the laurel tree shows the first sign of the group’s development, turning around the mind in order to observe themselves and their perpetual regeneration. The couch shell’s call reminds them of the central truth while the pathfinder monkey prays, contemplates, and tries to understand their universe. His headdress holds two feathers in which the seafarers’ souls will be judged for lightness of heart. The angel offers magnified hope and the secrets of its mercy is assured. Surrounding the boat is formlessness where creation dances into being. It is called chaos: water, darkness, night, eternity is the Deep, the void, emptiness, and a negation of ignorant perceptions of the journey. On the other hand, the sea creatures are the power of life locked in the unconscious. Despite the stillness, the eight want to push on to the ultimate. The eight are wholeness and completeness; sensing this, they seize the day and aspire to journey from ignorance to enlightenment. Jody Bare

After the Sacrifice Print
After the Sacrifice story
This is a place of encounter where the moon is fertile and births new souls. The sun touches and chooses so one can either be devoured by cosmic energy or become a container of conception. The bridge opens a path to experience a Divine Essence. The female guardian represents time and space itself with a mystery beyond all pairs of opposites. Everything is within her. The lion dragon warns not to go back, because going against the order of things sucks one into a downward vortex. A passing over is allowed once, so the couple plants a sunflower representing the first stage of their journey. Quickly, the young boy becomes an instrument of strength and sacrifices the lamb for the power of purity and innocence. The sun shines above; and the waters are calm. The sea turtle slowly climbs ashore reminding the young couple of their material existence. The guardian of the bridge has given passage to the bird dragon, while the butterfly flutters over newly aroused waters messaging the guardian’s words. The elder monkey, an experienced pathfinder, encourages passing over in order to replace this pathfinder and reward him for serving the couple. Representing elevation of spirit, transcendence, and freedom, the pheasant also contains knowledge of higher states of being and a language of the self. Time is ready to reveal this knowledge if only the couple can pass over. Much has been sacrificed for them. Their vision must reveal the conquest of fear yielding courage for life.

Cleo’s Garden Print
Cleo’s Garden
The couple stands in their “original” garden. The warrior puts down his weapon and picks up his shovel. He is wide awake and self-confident, aware of his fear but respectful of its needs. His lover is pregnant. They are the central axis, the two interlock in their new garden and start anew.
Many flowers & herbs bring the man & woman to the first stage of survival. Their two children play in the river that flows pass the ancient mountain, the central axis. Releasing the spiral stone, the monkey activates the receptacle holding vital spirits, moving divine power into their world. It is a soul’s quest for release. Working together, the moon & sun receives this matter & light, enlightening a path of perfect harmony.
Moving forward, the frog-serpent guards the threshold, the place where things are thrashed apart, releasing spiraling subtle energy. Controlled by this fertility frog- snake, a splendid harvest is expected. The movement transitions this energy from water into earth, a constant cycle of death and rebirth. Lastly, the couple’s life energy survives death and is transcendent of the temporal experience, a conquest of fear yielding the courage for life. Jody Bare

Cyclic Patterns story
The couple is on a quest for illumination. Their travels move them along the cosmic center, but they ignore the cosmic gift of a monkey pathfinder. In their path appears the double headed snake. The snake holds life and death within its power; again, the couple ignores the warning signs, while they dance around this ancient snake. The bird of prey also signals danger but luckily the phoenix guards their potential for rebirth and new life. They burden the camel in order to preserve their history. They follow the river which flows through their timeless struggle and the sun and moon embrace all with the light of consciousness. The lotus sustains for them the universe of time, giving the couple a few moments for reflection. They endeavor to become self aware by viewing the pyramids to see that life comes and goes from another world where all is water and they begin to understand their place within it. Jody Bare

Dancing Atoms Print
Dancing Atoms
The young man contemplates while he reverently holds aloft two souls in each hand, one soul is his, and the other is his young mate. She needs his help and must trust him. A Mist Dragon hovers around the couple. The dragon was created from the waters of the river and is illusive, essential, and of the earth. A fertility fish swims up its neck looking for the source of life. The pathfinder monkey rides the dragon’s back holding the ankh of life and death and ushering new life, while the messenger butterfly slides up the rays of the pregnant moon. The sun spins the eight-fold path into eternity and passes that energy around the moon. Thunder and lightning explode in the background warning of a misguided way. However, the cranes anoint the couple with long life and so they are unaware of the danger. One crane is grounded, the other soaring, while the third waits. A sunflower, a rose, and several shells are scattered in the sands denoting a confused future. The planted lotus held by the woman emits divine energy, grace, and knowledge of mirrored truth. A turtle enters from below to help the young women pick a soul from the shaman tree. A life cycle begins! Now the ‘seed of life’ spirals in the belly of the woman. Together they choose to begin this new life in balanced accord. Jody Bare

Dust of Devine Union Print
Dust of Devine Union
The angel is an invisible force of power ascending and descending between the source of life and the world of phenomena. The whirling sun disk of the heavens gives life to a spiral moon. Reflecting the sun’s power, she transforms life while nourishing all fish and fauna. The butterfly spikes this seasonal fertility and transformation. The seven-headed dragon devours worldly concerns such as conceit, vanity, pride, greed, avarice, suffering of conscience, and agonizing qualms. Seeing this dragon causes a shrinking from life and a yielding to fear. However, seven symbolizes wholeness and perfection. Somehow there is hope in the process. Four heads of the serpent are swallowing the waters of earth, sucking all time and all matter into the maw of chaos. It is a relentless swallowing up of youth and attachments. The pulse of life demands an unending stream of vital energy to keep it going, so it is easy for the three other heads of the dragon to push the millstone and reduce every grain of separative existence to the dust of divine union, an end of time. The angel controls an apocalypse. There exists an illusive line between life and death that the angel reveals. Life is created, exists for a while, and then is destroyed. Faith triggers and places this frightening angel in our way because she holds promise of a new beginning. She can be nourishing because of the Source. Alternately, the spiral triangle also holds this source of renewal while the Thunder God stands on a pyramid waiting for the appearance of a promising new world. Jody Bare

Essential Simplicity Print
Essential Simplicity The absolute center point, the unmoved mover, or totem is the gateway to an infinite field of the divine. It demands space but yet is space less, an everywhere point of contact between heaven and earth. Here it is an erect phallus, a close esoteric connection to fertility and rebirth, interfaced between multiplicity and unity, mortality and immortality. This totem is a source of generative power in the world. Climbing up, the monkey’s restlessly chattering mind finally quiets through wisdom and the touch of the carvings. Darkening rays shower the raven, a spirit guide and mediator between two worlds. The messenger butterfly, a fertilizing force, welcomes the light from the moon. Reaching, the goddess embodies the forces of a blessed land. She is also a serpent with earth energies, the mercurial currents of the earth spirit. The perched eagle is Sun Father. He rises to great heights and overcomes the world while entering the gateway of immortality, the place of Origin. The Sun Father enters the field of time and regenerates life. The eight-pointed star and sun spews forth humans while the moon holds the seeds within her womb. The single rose whispers love into the young child’s being. Laying the cosmic egg, the serpent births another world as the fertility fish jumps toward the power. This power creates a ‘central point’, a pole around which all revolves, where stillness and movement are together, movement is time, eternity.” (Black Elk) Jody Bare

Gate of Emptiness Print
Gateway to Emptiness
A child is born from the void. The Babylonian pyramid rises like a mountain from the earth. The spirals contained within the pyramid are nurturing waters giving life to all humans. The umbilical cord dissolves into these waters and then leaks out. Four figures appear: The baboon breaths life and instinct into the child; the pig demands ignorance resulting in a forgotten past; the monster dreams of the “prime material,” the original total unconscious in which the individual ego can rise and mature. Last, the earthly snake suffers and mediates between worlds. This snake is coiled three and one-half times to encourage transcendence. The Tree of Life or World Axis envelopes the vase which is filled with five boons: The first gift is a feather which will be weighed and then relay judgment from this human heart at journey’s end. The spiral spreads life-giving waters and the ankh renders power of life and death while the lotus spreads divine energy and grace. Finally, the rose spreads divine love. These boons are for a very long journey, because the window interfaces with the beyond and concurs that this human will struggle with its journey. Continuing, ‘the mountain mother,’ the eyes, are the knowledge of time and intuition of eternity coming together. These eyes are also Buddha Consciousness, from whom all living things appear and to whom all return in death. All of this is contained in this mountain pyramid. Hovering, the bird, a spirit vessel, carries the soul; however, the transfer point is elusive. Presently, a golden sun reveals energy that disengages from consciousness and time. This masculine side reaches out and gives power to the moon, a feminine power that reengages the field of time and powers the tides of life within the sea and the womb. Today, the child is born to the earth, to be bound for a time and to take its journey in time, in search of the “Gateway to Emptiness.” Jody Bare

Good Fortune Print
My mediums are printmaking and textiles. I use linoleum blocks exclusively, silk fabric most often, a magnifying glass for detailed cuts, a padded table for printing, and an iron to set the inks. I prefer Jacquard or Speedball textile ink and a special cloth pad to hand print my original designs. A special technique that I have developed is a type of overprinting: I print the same block twice to create more contrast and color plus use a combination of metallic inks with regular ink resulting in a dynamic textured appearance. Often I brush out parts of the block to alter the print. I register all my prints by hand and my positive-negative images are loose with a hand crafted appearance. My designs are usually inspired from nature, ethnic symbols, classic archetypes, or geometric figures.
‘Good Fortune’ is an example of an overprint. (10″ x 7″) Art is unmounted and not framed. Mailed with protected sleeve and cardboard backing. Please call if any questions: 831-425-8430.

Hounds of Heaven Print
The Hound of Heaven by Francis Thompson (1859-1907)
I fled Him, down the nights and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways of my own mind;
and in the mist of tears
I hid from Him, and under running laughter.
Up vistaed hopes I sped; and shot, precipitated,
adown Titanic glooms of chasmed fears,
from those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
But with unhurrying chase, and unperturbèd pace,
deliberate speed, majestic instancy, they beat–and a Voice beat
more instant than the Feet–
“All things betray thee, who betrayest me.”…

Interface Print
Interface: Mist Dragons
Two in balanced accord, stand guarding the interface where earth and heaven unite. They are Mist dragons: water, moon, and illusive, spiritual, prima materia, monstrous and serpent-like. These dragons of man and nature are engaged in the field of time. They give freely of their vitality and can alleviate sickness and misfortune. Mist dragons represent blind forces of primitive chaos and give birth to worlds. They swallow youthfulness while death and resurrection happen. Their cosmic energy seeks the eternal pearl which contains wisdom, enlightenment and eternity. They are within the trinity of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. When Mist dragons swallow these pearls, they face the edge, the interface between what can be known and what is unknowable. The dragons guard this space until there is a complete letting go of the human sense of what one was before birth. This moves one forward into death in order to forget and thus remember. Mist dragons represent all that is impossible to name, but somehow we intuitively recognize that ‘everything’ is there. Ultimately the interface opens up and one is speechless. Jody Bare

Isolated Goodness
Isolated Goodness
Moving through shallow waters, I wade over to a newborn island. Suddenly finding myself completely alone, I am filled with sweetness and strange images. Through the ocean mist a deer-like creature is pawing at a majestic sunflower. I am so taken that I descend into a state of balanced calmness. I stand in pleasurable ‘stillness of mind and spirit.’ I gaze skyward feeling the power of this blessed place. It seems that a divine purpose is here to be revealed, and a speechless joy surges as the ocean surrounds me in pounding surf. I grow mindful of kindly eyes searching within me. A rare tranquility overcomes me while I am emptied of my earthly troubles and falsehoods. I am seized by the beast’s white beauty and feel safe in its goodness and mystic guardianship. Jody Bare

Night Dancers Print
Night Dancers story
A cosmic union of opposites gives birth to the phenomenal world. This dreamy, innocence gives heart to the center. Two interlock by which heaven is brought to earth. They are the center and the center is everywhere. The dancers work in harmony giving flight to their souls. A man and a woman open their hearts and spontaneous perfection wells up. Dancing in the surf, they become the absolute center. Their rhythm points to this center where a gateway to an infinite field of the divine appears. They do not repent the past, they do not hash over the future, they are in the present and that is why they are untouchable. The cranes mirror this union. The waters are stirred by these fiery spirits, while the phoenix and his dragon partner rise up finding the world fully awake. Jody Bare

Original Garden Print
Original Garden
This garden is a place of origin that regenerates and time starts anew. The first garden holds all elements of consciousness: thought, emotion, intuition, and sensation. Primeval waters flow from the tree to the well and then pour forth from the maiden. The maiden is ‘untouched’ by worldly bonds; she is pure, uncorrupted, and limitless. Essential waters circulate through her and are brought forth into the four corners of the universe. When all four are held in balance, life is brought forth for a limited time. These waters are also the beginning and the end of all existence, the ever moving matrix that nurtures while preserving itself. The garden is a living creature and receives much of its power from the back and forth nature of the sun and moon. Power is then stored in the deepest waters of the well. It is from these watery depths that all life emerges. The maiden of the ‘Original Garden’ is eternally connected to the well, embodying the regenerative power contained within this circle of life. Polar Serpents Print
Power of Polarity
Here we find a couple as two indispensable halves and the tree of life, the center of an absolute beginning. Its trunk sprouts from the primordial waters from which all things arise and to which they return. At its base, the turtle is aware of the tree’s sacredness. Two serpents coil around this world tree. With beauty, the cow-headed serpent emits female energy while capturing the mate she loves. The lion-headed serpent roars as a supreme guardian, bringing masculine energy to the scene and personal access to the sacred vital forces of the tree. Emboldened, the couple must destroy these coils of manifestations and illusions the twisting figures contain. Protective spirit holders fly above their chosen human. The pelican-like bird holds purity and mother-love. The spiral-dove is a shape-changer containing needed energy. The sun and moon share their radiance equally. Sunflowers, roses, grasses and a lotus grow on the hilly bank. Mother Earth spreads her beauty behind the babbling creek. The three spiral pyramids hold the souls of the couple’s future children while waiting to be released. Cowry shells are scattered in the sand emanating their desire to have these children. The couple is blessed; they catch the fertility fish and their fate is sealed. The pathfinder monkey holds high the power of life and death and chooses love, another gateway for this couple’s entrance. Jody Bare

Quest for the Eternal Print
Quest for the Eternal story
The three search the mystery of the Grail where man finds union with the divine. There is a spiritual goal of inner wholeness and self-fulfillment here. The cup is in full view, but hidden from the seekers due to their preoccupation with each other. Suddenly, the woman becomes aware of a sword rising from the waters. The mere sight grants her extended life. It is a beacon drawing everyone near. The man of noble birth walks beside his dog as the humble, ordinary man fixes his gaze on the radiant young woman. Is she the sacred vessel? Does this cauldron end the search for rebirth, inspiration, and courtly love? Can the three find the Vessel of Wisdom that causes joy to permeate their souls? Along this path they catch a glimpse of a single image of wholeness, the Grail; however, the quest is never truly over. The three walk right by the eternal cup they are seeking but not seeing. Raised Aloft Print
Raised Aloft story
The Buddha meditates to see all things clearly, while the maiden and the two-headed dragon of death and resurrection hold all life energies. Grounded, the dragon rider practices his Tai Chi in order to ride the sacred cow’s head and burst the illusion of beauty and time. His mate dances with him; while a young girl holds the cross of life and death and a child follows in her footsteps. Bearing the lotus of divine grace, a man puts an end to all individualized existence. The sunflower radiates a growing strength, while the turtle comes on the tide reminding everyone of their material existence. Many are destined to cross the waterfall of concentric spirals, completing an earthly migration. This waterfall flows into a spiraling stream that is impregnated with life. These eight human figures convey boundless strength while looking for a fruitful path. The pathfinder monkey stands under the bow tree trying to see the Buddha, but the Buddha is beyond the concept of beyond. This will be an elusive path towards self realization. Centered, a giant woman, a maiden, and two angels spread out a magic cloth hoping to find a map of this path. Soaring above, the Eastern dragon-head holds the pearl of enlightenment up to the thousand-pedaled lotus moon. All of this permeates and sustains the universe of time. This pearl is a realization of one’s identity, and present in all things. The moon’s hand touches the sun, spiraling energy directly onto the earth, revolving into a life force. On her own, the butterfly maiden continues to communicate between this heavenly awareness and earthly ignorance, while the earthbound peacock promises hope for an immortal soul. Jody Bare

Redwood Journey-painted print
Redwood Journey
The redwood tree looms overhead joining the cosmic realm with terrestrial life. It is the embodiment of the world axis. The pathfinder monkey shrieks as he balances the ankh, a power of life over death. Above the mountain, the whirling sun disk reaches out to a laddered moon. Birds and a butterfly flutter about enjoying the serenity of the shining sun and moon. These majestic animals contain knowledge of a higher state of being, if only the couple will take the time to contemplate their flight. The sunflower radiates back the earth’s power of regeneration while the grasses and fauna grace the hillside. Despite this idyllic scene, the young woman is balking as if a cold wind blows across her face. She has no desire to enter the trail even as her lover encourages her to take heart and join the journey westward. The young girl rides a lion, the perfect good. She is fearless knowing her mount is the supreme guardian. She follows her brother who finds himself astride a dragon, an omen of the fallen state of mankind. Three feathers don the dragon’s crown while holding the power of judgment. If the couple’s hearts remain light as a feather then their children’s hearts will follow. They find the stream spiritually nourishing. A glimpse of a turtle and frog swimming among the fertile fish, offers these travelers good fortune and the promise of one more child. The pyramid contains the child’s soul, spiraling around, and ready for release at the end of this long journey. Jody Bare

Splendor, Mirth, Good Cheer Print
Splendor, Mirth & Good Cheer story
Dancing in the spiral of consciousness, three friends bridge the gap between the known and the unknown. In the stillness of the night, the moon governs the waters while soft power is generated in the field of time. Is this not heaven on earth? Cannot the moon’s light have the power to transform invisible forces? Will they be centered in sensuality and pleasure? Joyfully they dance through the shallow banks feeling the earthly tides while the sea and sky are home to all other earthly creatures that ascend and descend into this sacred place. Jody Bare

The Gathering Print
The Gathering story: $90
A soul rests within the Gathering Tree. It acts as a vital bridge between the intellect, body and spirit. This is the absolute beginning, or cosmic axis, a path toward the center where order is mastered and emptiness found.
The unicorn spears its purity into the trunk of the tree; the young man to the left blesses the rising phoenix. The two men to the right sacrifice their bodies to release their bondage to the earth, and the woman prays that she is receiving a regenerative transformation. Gathering to taste the ambrosia of the gods, all partake. The sun and the moon shine on the primordial tree, while the river flows time. Time and eternity, movement and rest are found in the Tree of Life. All gather to understand that life is the fruit of one’s own doing and the conquest over the chattering mind at the changeless center. Jody Bare

Threshold Print
Threshold
Can the child find the strength to pass over the threshold? The stone she holds empowers her because it holds her soul and her innermost being. The bridge on the right with its arched gateway beckons. It could be a dangerous path, maybe she should cross on the left. However, the dog has the instinct to guide her and he points to the center. The dragon hovers watching the child. The child naturally pulls away from the protection of mother earth. It is a lonely journey, but she wants to engage in the field of time. This is a heroine act to depart in order to return. Roses dot the building making the way for the first stage of growth. The sun and the moon shield their power while the water spirals beneath giving support. The invisible trail is there, but one must venture forth to find it. Jody Bare

Time Gate Print
Time Gate
The Time Dragon is the giver of life to Earth, “the many from one, the one from many.” This dragon releases our spirit from bondage to gradually increase consciousness so that we may overcome all time bound existence, awaken to a timeless state of rest, and see our own nature beyond a dream. This life is the fruit of our own doing; time cycles and returns to its beginning. As the dragon winds itself, a still-point is created, thrusting the universe into being and opening up a gate to the beyond. As it unwinds, our spirits move back to the divine source. The Time Dragon is yesterday, today and tomorrow. We move steadily through time because life is a self-consuming, ever-dying, ever-living generative energy of becoming. Jody Bare

Two Souls’ Dream Print
Two Souls’ Dream
As three humans sleep, they dream. Suddenly, the Japanese weather lord’s dragon ascends from the sky denoting good fortune, strength, and spirit of change. A turtle crawls slowly, joining the small family, crying out its mother’s earth song. A soul has been caught between two worlds; however, the laurel tree suddenly bids forth a hero and an athlete. Growing beside the small family is a five-pedaled rose; it foretells the coming of a new life. Feathers and shells lie about hinting of life well spent and judged on their lightness of spirit. A sunflower shines in the father’s face giving him radiant power. A Hopi symbol of a thirty-year path lies near the angel. This angel is an invisible, powerful force, ascending and descending between the source of life and the world of phenomena. The angel holds the soul of a new life offered to this couple and carries it into our earthly world. The angel blocks the ladder because the ancient soul has been exchanged for the young one. The pathfinder monkey holds the ankhs of life and death, demanding death of the old one and life for the new. Three doves rejoice in this passing, elevating earthly spirits. The stream spirals with lunar fertility, propelling the fertility fish a glimpse of this new soul. The mountain holds a triangle of spirals that acts as the mother of form, a stored soul for a future exchange. The moth maiden, guardian of eternity, passes on the message of this new conception. The vibrant sun embraces heaven through the impregnated moon while spewing life forces upon the dreaming family. The cosmic egg settles at last for the quickening of this new soul. The pearl of wisdom, enlightenment, and self-realization will be searched for once again. Jody Bare

Unbridled Currents Print
Unbridled Currents story: $90
This adolescent spirit is boundless. As her horse dives into the waters, the youth delves after the mystery in a heroine quest. Her mare bounds with unbridled feminine sexuality. Holding the divine lotus, she permeates and sustains the universe of time, and suddenly there is a realization of her identity and a presence in all things. Moving quickly behind her, the dragon becomes a blind force of primitive chaos. It can swallow up this young woman. Protecting her, the carp swims quickly in swirling waters toward the poisonous crustacean. Rushing forward, the white pregnant mystic fish blesses the youth’s journey. As she bounds toward the holly tree and the rabbit-eared dog, she confronts her fertility. Behind her are ten spiral pyramids, all holding potential souls. The pyramids are threshold forms that interface time and eternity, figments of life in time. The sun and moon confront each other with equal radiance. The moth guards eternity, while the crane beckons the young woman with long life. Waving from the top of the hill, the monkey stands holding the key of life. He is her pathfinder, but the adolescent does not see him and willfully follows her physical desires. She will find the quest long and arduous. Hopefully someday, she will become aware of her pathfinder and complete her journey with swiftness of spirit. Jody Bare

Unicorn and Maiden Print
The Unicorn and the Maiden
The man’s future is pitiless, irrational and hard. His strength is noble as he rises with the rhythm of the serpent. The unicorn, perfect and beyond description, is waiting for the man’s transformation. To go back would be to go against the order of things and get sucked into a downward vortex. The maiden is looking for purification and is attracted to this small, fierce unicorn. Behind her, the pathfinder offers her a peach, but the maiden is aloof to this gesture of seeds for the future. There is earthly and heavenly love possible here, but the chaos of the river obscures her needs. Through the body of a fragile tree there is a return to the center where life and death are joined and the paths of the living will converge. There is wisdom in those who inhabit this wilderness realm. An essential sea circulates through the natural garden causing the phoenix to rise, while overcoming their world and returning to the place of all origins. Jody Bare

Unity in Bliss print
United Bliss
Father, Mother, & Child unite, forming an eternal triangle. Possibly, a sage, a savior or a hero is born. Stability is found in the maiden, mother and crone. This trinity creates, exists and destroys; however, its spiritual virtues are humility, charity and truthfulness. Going forward, they discover totality, uniformity and maybe even stillness, while their spirits together act continuously through all time and space. The totality of the universe works, as their souls take form within an encircled dragon, which is also the outer aspect of an inner knowledge.
The tail-eater wraps around, containing new life, a creative energy that is self-fertilizing. Duality is resolved. The origin is discovered in the unity of prima material of the universe. The dragon is a container of conception that swallows up youth. The mother is a vessel of transformation & protector of children. There is a cosmic union here that gives birth to the phenomenal world. This soft power can bring about radical change.
Here again, the man sees the moon reflect the sun as it acts as a mask to the true self; consequently, the sun is the essence of the man’s being. Now the keenness of his eyesight sees the soul birds soaring into a higher state of being. He sees the lotus roots in the mud, while the flower opens up to the sun. At his feet, the monkey meditates; intuitively, the man sees the growth as an unfolding spirit of the rose. Lastly, the turtle breaks free of its material existence while the cosmic egg rolls to the corner and sees itself in the future encircled by three in one, true soul power. Jody Bare
